What a Girly Girly Day

So since the sun has come out and almost completely dissipated my horrible funk, I decided it was time to break out the dresses after spending months in jeans and my patagonia. Wearing dresses seems to put every girl in such a wonderful girly mood. This post is dedicated to everything girly and bright.

Rain Rain Go Away

Its days like this summer calls my name over and over. Having had a horrible night of sleep and a somewhat awful morning, the sunny carefree days of last summer and our warm summer nights spent with good friends in the cloud of us leaving each other soon. The rain must go.

I'm sitting in English and looking out the window and waiting so anxiously for the wonderful JAB reunion of spring break. Hopefully we can all have a sleepover and just love on each other. To me, this stretch has been one of the longest we have been away from each other. Maybe that's my heart hurting and missing y'all, but I really do think we need each other!

Do you find yourself falling deeper into your mood when the weather matches it perfectly? Today it would have been amazing to see the sun. It would have uplifted my spirits so much. The gray sky and slow but steady misty rain kept me sunk in my funk of a mood.

Watching 16 and pregnant last night I stumbled upon the songs "My Heart" and "Trouble Sleeping" by The Perishers. Awesome songs. You should listen to them when you are in a dilapidated mood. They are perfect! So long to this rant then,

Missing You

Have you ever missed someone so much you literally hurt? Sometimes I think about english in 11th grade and want to burst into tears because the thought of how happy we were together makes me ache. Yesterday night when I was in the library here at school I was on the phone with Ann, and I just wished so much that we were all three together. God has blessed me with not one, but two amazing friends who know me and love me for who I am. Since I have been at college I have seen how difficult it is to find friends like us. We have all found our niches at school and branched out but I'm glad we are still so close. COming home and being able to just sit in a room and talk for hours with you girls makes my heart smile. I am so thankful for you, and that's what this post was really for.

Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

So I know that this book was written about a little boy named Alexander, but today was that day!

Do you have those weekends where you say you are going to get a lot of work and stuff done, and yet you get none of what you were required to have done by a Monday done? That was this weekend. As we get further and further into the semester, I feel like I'm falling further and further behind. The stress level is increasing, and the free time is slowly diminishing. Pretty much this is me venting about being stressed out about a day that while may have seemed really horrible was just ok. But the fact that I am severely lacking in sleep seems to be the reason that the day has taken on a worse feel then it actually is.

Worship

Today I got to go to this church called Vintage21 which I have been trying to go to for a while. It is really contemporary, and their worship team writes a lot of their own songs. The pastor was preaching out of Mark 8:31-38, and at the beginning he made the comment that our faith doesn't require actions to be pure and right. He said that there is nothing, no action, word, act of service or worship that we can do to lose or gain favor with God.

This was such an encouragement! My faith isn't mine to gain or lose! It is God working in me and through me. We were created for the sole purpose of worshiping him!

We sang In Christ Alone by Avalon and my favorite line from that song has always been "No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from his hand. For I am his, and he is mine, here in the power of Christ I'll stand!"

I think often times I let Sunday be my only day of worship and let mtwtfs be about me. My prayer for this week for us is that we let EVERYDAY be about worshiping him and denying ourselves for him.

Girl Scout Cookies

Have you ever approached a grocery store, bank, or WalMart and outside in the cold there are standing frenzied young girls pleading with you to buy boxes of the most amazing cookies ever? The temptation is overwhelming to give in. To spend your last few dollars on a few caramel delights or peanut butter patties, or the ever popular THIN MINTS!

As soon as you start talking about girl scout cookies you have to decide what you call caramel delights. Are the samoas? Caramel Delights?

My friend and I were strong though, and we resisted the temptation these little girls were forcing on us!

When I go back home my mom and I decided to buy out a whole stand of cookies and save them in the freezer to last all year.

Rain...
Have you ever thought about rain? Like I know where it comes from and everything, but how can there be that much water in a cloud and it still be able to float over the whole world? Have you ever tried to carry a huge thing of water bottle up the stairs? It's heavy, so how does that much rain float in clouds about the world? Maybe I'm just tired and these silly things come to my mind when I'm exhausted, but that is just something to think about. And another thing, who invented rain boots? I mean I know they have been around for a while and all, but do you ever wonder about who invented things?

The Beginning :)

Girls! I am so glad that we are gonna be able to share our days on here! I do not know how this is gonna work, but i can't wait to see!
My day...
I woke up early this morning to go study for my econ test tomorrow...oh joy! But I got to go to this awesome bakery for lunch and coffee and sit with good music and just zone out to the laws of supply and demand.
Then the best part by far. My three hour sewing lab. Honestly it isn't that bad, it's just hard to understand my teacher and really frustrating when I don't get something right the first time. As yall know patience isn't one of my many virtues and this is a major test. God has a sense of humor, and I think he laughs at me when I mess up in that class :)
I wish my sewing area was as cute as the one I posted, buts its really just a big classroom with bunches of machines

In actuality, the best part of my day was YoungLife. The first club of the year, and me and my team mates had been worried about not a lot of people showing up, but Holly Springs brought it! In Raleigh they have YL at peoples houses, and we had it at this one girl's house and her huge living room was PACKED! It was such an answer to prayer and an encouragement for what our YL is gonna look like this year.

Becca, Im glad the interview went well! Im praying you get the job!
Ann, I just miss you and want to know what in the world is going on in your life!

I just had a brilliant idea :) in each of my posts im gonna post a picture of things of THREE! brilliant no? haha, well i like this one, let me know what you think!

I just had a conversation with my suitemate regarding who is paying for tp this month. "I will do your webassign if you buy the tp" Sounds like a sweet deal to me. Im agreeing.

Anyways, sorry that was kind of long and boring. Miss you girls and love you forever,

love always,
